CLIENT FEEDBACK
In their own words

We'd been in this apartment for three years without really settling in. The consultation gave us a clear brief — we finally understood why the living area felt off. Sofia didn't push us toward anything; she just asked the right questions until we could articulate what we needed. We went ahead with design development and the outcome was more considered than I expected for the price.

The Terrain Management service was exactly what I needed — I travel frequently and couldn't supervise the renovation myself. Yee Ting was thorough with the contractor coordination. There were two weeks where progress stalled due to a material delay, but I was kept in the loop throughout. Final result is clean, functional, and feels like mine.

I started with just the consultation because I wasn't sure I was ready for a full renovation. The Reflective Brief document they produced was genuinely useful — it helped me think through what the space needed in a way I couldn't have articulated on my own. I've since gone ahead with the full design service. Happy I started slowly.

What I appreciated most was that Ahmad genuinely listened to how we use the house — two working adults, no kids, lots of natural light from the east — and the design reflected all of that. No generic suggestions, no trend-following. The material choices have held up well through our humidity, which was a specific concern we'd raised.

Small terrace house redesign. The brief process was thorough — they took notes on everything from how we cook to where we tend to pile things up. The design accounts for all of that. One round of feedback took a bit longer than I expected to process, but that was partly on my side. The end result works well for a family of four.

Used the Landscape of Needs Consultation for a small café we were setting up in Cheras. Even though the brief document was primarily intended for a residential setting, Sofia adapted it thoughtfully for a commercial context. Gave us a genuine direction for the space — worth far more than the MYR 450 we paid.

CASE STUDIES
Three projects in detail
CASE STUDY 01
Condo in Desa Parkcity — from placeholder furniture to a considered home
The situation
Client had lived in a fully furnished condo for four years with furniture chosen quickly at move-in. The space functioned but felt like an extended hotel stay — nothing was really theirs.
What we did
Started with the consultation to map actual use patterns, then moved into full design development. Replaced placeholder pieces with a coherent material palette, improved lighting layering, and redesigned the study corner.
The outcome
Client described the apartment as feeling inhabited for the first time. Total project cost including Mora Studio fee and furniture procurement: within MYR 28,000. Completed within the agreed 7-week window.
CASE STUDY 02
Terrace house in Ampang — renovation managed while clients were overseas
The situation
Family relocating back to KL from overseas. Needed the house renovated and ready to move into on arrival. No one locally to oversee the work.
What we did
Terrain Management with weekly written updates and site photos. Coordinated three contractors, managed procurement of all materials, flagged and resolved a subfloor issue before tiling began.
The outcome
House was handed over three days before the family's arrival date. Clients walked in to a complete, clean space. One post-handover rectification item resolved within the first week.
CASE STUDY 03
Small café, Cheras — brief consultation that shaped the whole interior direction
The situation
First-time café operator with a 450sqft space and unclear ideas about the visual identity. Budget was tight — needed direction without committing to full design fees.
What we did
Landscape of Needs Consultation adapted to commercial context. Site visit mapped sightlines, customer flow, and natural light. Reflective Brief gave clear material and mood direction, layout priorities, and three layout options to consider.
The outcome
Client used the brief as a working document to brief their own contractor. Avoided several costly decisions. Café opened two months later. Client returned six months on for a second consultation before expanding to a second unit.
Your space deserves the same care
